Absa Premiership Match Report: Bidvest Wits 2-0 AmaZulu 26 September 2014
Absa Premiership   Result: Bidvest Wits 2-0 AmaZulu   Date: 26 September 2014   Venue: Bidvest Stadium   Goals from Thulani Hlatshwayo and Vincent Pule earned Bidvest Wits a 2-0 win over AmaZulu in an Absa Premiership clash at the Bidvest Stadium on Friday night.   Check PSL Fixtures - Click Here The win moves Gavin Hunt's men up to third on the league table, while Craig Rosslee's men remain rooted to the foot of the table.   Pule almost opened the scoring as early as the first minute, but the winger headed just wide of the upright.   Bornwell Mwape should have given AmaZulu the lead in the 24th minute, the winger latched onto a pass from Philane Shange before firing horribly wide from close range.   Wits eventually took the lead in the 40th minute, as an un-marked Tyson Hltashwayo headed home   Sandile Zuke should have doubled the lead 49th minute, but the midfielder blasted over from inside the area, after being picked out by Sheppard.   Sthembiso Ngcobo should have added a second for Wits in the 65th minute but striker managed to place his effort over the crossbar from close range.   However, the home side doubled their lead two minutes later, as Vincent Pule tapped home from three-yards out after some good build up play by Wits.   AmaZulu's first effort on target arrived in the 76th minute, as Moneeb Josephs pulled off a fine save to deny Dlamini from close range.   Josephs was called into action minutes later, this time pulling off a fine save to deny Mwape from six-yards out.   Wits managed to see out the rest of the match with relative ease, as they claimed their fourth win of the campaign.   Here's how they lined up:   Bidvest Wits: Josephs, Hlatshwayo, Shongwe, Vilakazi, Pule, Mkhwanazi, Ngcobo, Nhlapo, Zuke, Sheppard, Ntshangase   AmaZulu: Kapini, Horaeb, Van Heerden, Ouro Akoriko, Johannes, Ndulula, Arwuah, Dlamini, Shange, Ooko, Mwape   Check PSL Results - Click Here
