Under Ramovic's guidance, TS Galaxy have exhibited a brand of enterprising football, seamlessly integrating young talents into the squad and positioning themselves for a notable top-four finish in the DStv Premiership. Further to that, the significance of a thriving Chiefs for the broader landscape of South African football is not lost on Sukazi.
"Now, we have a crisis in South Africa if your question - you are alluding to the rumour of Kaizer Chiefs or something like that which is a rumour. We haven't spoken to them," Sukazi shared on Sports Night Amplified with Andile.
Despite the rumours, Sukazi expressed his desire for a formidable Chiefs side, recognizing the club's potential to enhance the competitive spirit within South African football. With Mamelodi Sundowns dominating the league with seven successive titles and Orlando Pirates showing signs of resurgence, the pressure is on Chiefs to elevate their game and end their prolonged trophy drought.
"My wish and what I want for the country and football in South Africa is a strong Kaizer Chiefs, a very strong Kaizer Chiefs. Sundowns have become strong so have Pirates, yes, we beat them last week but this team of Pirates is probably the best I have seen in recent times again, in many years, maybe 10 years even," Sukazi remarked.
Sukazi's endorsement of Ramovic stems from a deep-seated belief in the coach's ability to lead a turnaround at Chiefs, potentially ending the club's nine-year trophy drought that has lingered since their 2014/15 league title victory under Stuart Baxter.
"I also read the rumours so should it happen, I don't know if it will happen, I don't know what's the criteria of what they are looking for and I cannot advise Kaizer Chiefs obviously, should the approach come to my desk," he added.
With Sundowns having set the bar for the last few seasons now through seven successive titles, Pirates have come on strongly under coach Jose Riveiro in the cups.
Thus, the onus now is on Amakhosi to join the equation and extend the possibilities of serious rivals to Sundowns in South African football.
"I know what Ramovic can do. I can only refer him. I cannot tell Chiefs what to do," Sukazi said.
"If that would extend the blessing to SA football and in my view, it's my view I would like to believe will be the biggest turnaround in the biggest institution in SA football. That's my view, he will turn them around and I know he will bring them a trophy," Sukazi added, highlighting his confidence in Ramovic's transformative potential for the club.
As Chiefs continue their search for a new head coach, the consideration of Ramovic as a candidate underscores the club's intent to revitalize its fortunes and reclaim its status as a powerhouse in South African football.
