Downs, Chiefs Clean Up Monthly PSL Awards

The Betway Premiership monthly awards for November and December have recognized standout performances across the league, with Iqraam Rayners, Miguel Cardoso, and Mduduzi Shabalala taking home the top honours.

The awards were decided by a judging panel comprising PSL-accredited football journalists and broadcasters, with each winner standing out for their contributions to their respective teams during the period.

Miguel Cardoso was named the Premiership Coach of the Month for his exceptional work with Mamelodi Sundowns.

Under his guidance, Sundowns enjoyed a perfect run in the league, winning three crucial matches against Stellenbosch FC, AmaZulu FC, and Richards Bay FC. The team's impressive form during this stretch saw them secure a full nine points, further solidifying their position at the top of the table. Cardoso's tactical acumen and ability to guide his team to victory earned him the recognition, with Sundowns continuing to demonstrate their dominance in the league.

Iqraam Rayners was awarded the Player of the Month after a standout performance that saw him narrowly edge out strong competition from Relebohile Mofokeng and Hendrick Ekstein.

Rayners' consistent performances for his team were vital during November and December, and his impact on the field was clear. His combination of skill, vision, and goalscoring ability made him one of the standout players of the period, earning him the top individual honour.

The Goal of the Month award went to Mduduzi Shabalala of Kaizer Chiefs for his stunning solo effort against Chippa United on 29 December in Durban.

Shabalala's run from midfield and his clinical finish secured his goal as the best of the month, with strong competition from the likes of Thalente Mbatha and Relebohile Mofokeng. Shabalala's ability to glide past defenders before striking the ball into the back of the net was a moment of brilliance that left fans and pundits alike in awe.
