Orlando Pirates beat Egyptian giants Al Ahly 1-0 in the first-leg of the CAF Confederation Cup semi-finals at Orlando Stadium at the weekend, and coach Eric Tinkler told the Siya crew that he was happy to have kept a clean sheet.
Tinkler believes that heading to Egypt with a 1-0 advantage will force their opponents to come at them, and he has urged his side to make the most of the chances that come their way in the second-leg.
In the last two-legged meeting between these African giants, Bucs secured a 1-1 draw at home in the first-leg of the CAF Champions League final, but suffered a 2-0 defeat at Al Ahly to lose 3-1 on aggregate.
Reflecting on the game, Tinkler said, "We struggled with our marking. They gave us a scare when they beat the post here and we had to make sure we kept a clean sheet going to the away game.
"I am happy with a 1-0 win. They need to come on us. We have to utilise the chances which we will get in the second-leg.
"It's only 90 minutes and this is just the first-half. We have to go and play the second-half and win in the away game as well," Tinkler concluded.
