Orlando Pirates legend Edward 'Magents' Motale says that the Sea Robbers must improve in defence if they want to win the CAF Confederation Cup.
On Sunday, Orlando Pirates reached the final of the African competition, after beating Al Ahly 4-3 in Egypt to complete a 5-3 victory on aggregate.
The 1995 CAF Champions League-winning captain, Magents, says it was a committed performance from the team that won them the game, and also had special praise for Kermit Erasmus and Thabo Rakhale..
"They were committed to win. They had the will to win. They didn't just go there to honour the fixture. They really wanted to win more, especially after Al Ahly's second goal when they continued fighting and things weren't looking good for them," he said.
"Also the introduction of Erasmus and Rakhale changed the game and the goal Erasmus scored with his first touch from Rakhale's cross, which was also his first touch, boosted them and the morale went high.
"I am, however, sceptical at the back. We tend to give away soft goals. If we can shut the back door then the trophy is ours. We have everything that it takes to win this trophy," Motale concluded.
