France boss Didier Deschamps named his 23-man squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Thursday, and caused a massive stir when he snubbed these 12 stars, including a Manchester United winger.

There were loads of talking points following Deschamps' squad announcement on Thursday, especially after he left out highly rated United attacker Anthony Martial, who many believe deserved a spot in the side.
The 22-year-old endured a difficult season under Jose Mourinho in England, much like Karim Benzema at Real Madrid, who was unlikely to make the team anyway. The striker has not played for France since 2015.
Arsenal forward Alexandre Lacazette was left out of the manager's plans, as was Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman, who has been capped 15 times for Les Bleus.
Sevilla's Wissam Ben Yedder and Atletico Madrid's Kevin Gameiro were also overlooked by Deschamps, along with Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Moussa Sissoko, who has previously been a favourite under the French boss.
A big surprise exclusion was Paris Saint-Germain's Adrien Rabiot, while Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte was once again left out.
The 23-year-old is yet to make a single appearance for the French national team, and many thought that Laurent Koscielny's injury was his opening into the side.
Defenders Lucas Digne and Layvin Kurzawa were also snubbed by Deschamps, as was FC Girondins Bordeaux goalkeeper Benoit Costil.

France begin their World Cup campaign against Australia on 16 June, before playing Peru on 21 June and then Denmark five days later.
