Coutinho, along with Luis Suarez, will come up against their former side at Camp Nou on Wednesday evening.
The Brazilian left in last year's January transfer window in a deal reportedly worth £142million, although it has not been smooth sailing for the midfielder.
Despite losing a player of Coutinho's caliber, Klopp feels his side have performed well since the player's departure.
"Yes we miss Coutinho, a lot, because he is a world-class player and I loved working with him," Klopp said, according to Sky Sports. "But we had to deal without him and we really did well. "When I first heard he wanted to go to Barcelona, I didn't imagine we could be that good [without him]. But we did, it was all good for both sides."
