The debate over who the best player of our generation is keeps raving on, with Messi now having six Ballons d'Or in comparison to Ronaldo's five.
Selecao legend Pele, the only footballer to win three FIFA World Cups, has now given his opinion on the debate, and picked Ronaldo over Messi.
"Today, the best player in the world is Cristiano Ronaldo," Pele told YouTube channel Pilhado.
"I think he's the best, because he's more consistent, but you can't forget about Messi, of course, but he's not a striker."

Pele was also asked who he thinks will go down as the greatest footballer in history, and listed five names before insisting he was better than all of them.
"It is a question that is difficult to answer. We cannot forget about Zico, Ronaldinho and Ronaldo (Nazario)," he added.
"And in Europe, Franz Beckenbauer and Johan Cruyff.
"Now, it's not my fault, but I think Pele was better than them all."
