FC Barcelona forward, Lionel Messi, will be honoured by the LFP for breaking Telmo Zarra's all-time La Liga record of 251 goals.
Villa Hails Messi As The Best Ever
The Argentine's hat-trick against Sevilla in November saw him overtake Zarra's record and that achievement will be celebrated in Barcelona's upcoming home game with Real Sociedad.
Messi was supposed to be honoured ahead of their clash with Eibar on December 20 but the league decided against it out of respect for the Deportivo La Carouna fan, who passed away that day.
Zarra's 251 goals took him 277 games to achieve, while the Barcelona maestro scored his 253 goals in 289 appearances for the Catalans.
The Barcelona star, who made his debut for the club in 2004, has now increased his tally to 258.
