With Manchester United reportedly close to signing Alvaro Morata, it has been revealed what Jose Mourinho reportedly told the Real Madrid striker to convince him to join his side.

The 24-year-old was Los Blancos' second best goalscorer behind Cristiano Ronaldo this past season, netting 20 times in 43 appearances, often coming off the bench to score.
Morata reportedly wants more game time ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, and is keen to become United's main striker.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic's deal with the Red Devils will not be extended after the Swede picked up a serious knee injury that will reportedly keep him sidelined until January 2018.
Mourinho apparently called Morata himself to ensure the striker he will play an instrumental role in his team if he joins.
"Come to me, you will be important," the Portuguese told Morata, as reported by Marca.
The United boss and Morata already worked together at Los Blancos, with Mourinho giving him his senior debut back in December 2010.

Morata has already lifted 13 trophies in his career – eight with Los Blancos and five during a two-year spell with Juventus.
