FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has reportedly met with one of the Catalan club's biggest transfer targets over dinner to discuss a possible move.
'I've Got Better Technique Than Ronaldo'
The Spanish giants have been heavily linked with Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti in recent seasons, with the latest reports suggesting the Italian is trying to force a move away from the French side.
According to Cadena COPE, the player met with Argentine superstar Messi in Ibiza, where they are both said to be enjoying their off-season holidays.
It was suggested that Verratti had dinner with the 29-year-old in order to talk about the prospect of joining the Blaugrana, with the player reportedly after a new challenge.
It is believed, however, that PSG are not willing to sell the player at any price as they do not want to lose their best players to their European rivals.
It has been claimed that Verratti's Argentine teammate Javier Pastore, who is also a close friend of Messi's, organised the meeting.
Barca apparently see the Italian as Andres Iniesta's long-term replacement, while speculation has it that the Spanish giants are desperate to make two or three major signings for next season.
