The Spaniard spent a record-breaking £169 million (R2.7 billion) on new signings last season, and is expected to exceed that number in this window.
Manchester Evening News believe the Citizens are prepared to spend up to £300 million (R4.8 billion) to give Guardiola the squad he wants, but they will need to sell players otherwise their net spend (the difference between transfer expense and transfer income) will be too high.
As a consequence, City and Guardiola are reportedly prepared to sell Joe Hart as well as Nigeria starlet Kelechi Iheanacho. Both are reportedly valued at £25 million (R403 million) each by the club.
In addition, Eliaquim Mangala, Samir Nasri, Wilfried Bony, Fabian Delph and Nolito are also understood to be on their way out.
Mangala is valued at £18 million (R290 million) and has interest from La Liga clubs, while Nasri and Bony's prices are reportedly set at just £10 million (R161 million) each.
Delph will apparently be sold for offers in the region of £15 million (R242 million), while Nolito is expected to bring in a similar fee.
