Man City 'Make Decision' On Guardiola

Man City 'Make Decision' On Guardiola

How Manchester City's board feels about Pep Guardiola's future at the club has been revealed after the team's eight defeats in their last 11 games.

According to Team Talk, the champions are not considering the future of Guardiola and remain unwavering in their belief that he is the right man to turn around their unexpected struggles this season.

This comes amid comments from the Spanish manager regarding his future, as well as shock claims suggesting he could be ready to resign from his position at the Etihad.

The 53-year-old is widely regarded as one of the greatest managers of all time, having led City to an impressive six Premier League titles in the last seven years.

In addition to those league triumphs, Guardiola has secured a remarkable 15 major honours at the Etihad, bringing his total career trophy haul to 36, which includes successful stints at Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

However, this season has seen City and Guardiola find themselves in unfamiliar territory, with a late collapse against Manchester United on Sunday – thanks to a strike from Amad Diallo – leaving them with their fifth loss in 16 Premier League games. This result adds to a concerning run of just one win in 11 matches across all competitions.

As a result, former City player and manager Stuart Pearce has suggested that Guardiola could now be contemplating resignation, less than a month after signing a new contract that ties him to the club until the summer of 2027.

These claims have been further fuelled by Guardiola himself, who admitted his concerns that the City hierarchy could decide to part ways with him by sacking him as manager.

Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak and majority owner Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, however, continue to hold Guardiola in the highest regard and are fully convinced that he is the man to turn their fortunes around.

Any attempt from the Spaniard to resign would be rejected, and the club is prepared to fully back their manager in upcoming transfer windows, with an urgent need to strengthen in several key positions now clear.
