Bafana Bafana talisman Percy Tau will reportedly be the recipient of a major CAF prize at African football's biggest award ceremony on Monday night.

Tonight in Marrakesh, Morocco, the best footballers from the continent will be honoured for their performances in 2023 as African football's governing body gets ready to host its annual award ceremony.
South Africa, and Mamelodi Sundowns in particular, are well represented as the Tshwane outfit could potentially leave with seven awards by the end of the night.
One of their former stars will, however, be hoping to deny them that honour in the Men's Interclub Player of the Year category, with Tau having been named among the final three nominees for that accolade.
The Al Ahly winger will be up against Democratic Republic of Congo international Fiston Mayele and Masandawana marksman Peter Shalulile.
While the Namibian and DRC-born attackers enjoyed good campaigns in 2023, 39-time Bafana international Tau is destined to win the award following his strong showing for the Red Devils in the CAF Champions League, according to journalist Mohamed Saeed, as per El Fagr.
The Witbank native was the main protagonist in helping the Club of the Century capture a record-extending 11th continental title with his five goals and five assists in last season's tournament.
Ahly also managed to win the league and the Egyptian Super Cup titles with his help, with the 29-year-old attacker now seemingly performing to the level expected of him when he completed his move to Cairo from Brighton Hove Albion in 2021.

It appears unlikely that Tau will be present to receive the award himself, whoever, as the north African giants are on their way to Saudi Arabia to compete in the latest edition of the FIFA Club World Cup.
