Egypt Boss Told He's 'Very Disrespectful' By Ex-Coach Ahead Of AFCON

The current Egyptian national team boss has been labelled disrespectful and unprofessional for his conduct as head coach so far by a former member of the Pharaohs' technical staff.

Rui Victoria is taking charge of his first national team with the record African champions, and this month will be looking to extend the country's record at the Africa Cup of Nations in the Ivory Coast.

Despite his success with Benfica in Portugal, the 53-year-old has seemingly not inspired much confidence in the Egyptian public regarding their prospects of winning AFCON, especially former Egypt goalkeeping coach Zaki Abdelfattah.

Abdelfattah has slammed the Portuguese tactician for the way he handled his last international camp, and thinks his inexperience in international football will ultimately be his undoing.

"The Egyptian Football Association have no vision," he told Al-Shams TV channel.

"I said it before that Rui Vitoria is a good manager, but he has no experience at an international level, and he came to try something new at our expense.

"In every camp they have, you will find problems because it's the first time he is coaching a national team. This was evident in the last international break with the exclusion of certain players.

"The fact that he talked Abdullah El-Said into coming back from his retirement to join the team and then went back on his decision says a lot about him.

"This is very unprofessional and incredibly disrespectful to such a great player like him. I have been between clubs and national teams for 31 years.

"Vitoria is inexperienced! I don't think it's the right approach to make plans and tie someone like him to a four-year contract because he clearly does not have the same vision as the association."
