Kaizer Chiefs and Platinum Stars will take to the field tomorrow evening, but what are the worst deals to have transpired between to the clubs in recent years? Let's take a look.
The Amakhosi may not have as big a rivalry with the Dikwena as they do with Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns, but there is still a sense of competitiveness between the two clubs.
There haven't been many players to switch between these two clubs directly, but here is the worst deals to happen.
Thuso Phala To Chiefs
The wide-sided player couldn't display the form he has shown since he joined at SuperSport United. After impressing with Stars, Phala made the move to Chiefs and much was expected of him. However, he struggled to meet the requirements at Naturena and he was limited to 32 appearances in two years, notching up one goal. Phala was then sent to Mamelodi Sundowns before returning back to Rustenburg and then joining his current club SuperSport United.
Siphelele Mthembu To Chiefs
The lanky striker joined Amakhosi at the start of the 2014/15 campaign, and he has struggled to break into first team football. "Shaka Zulu" has been exceptionally goal shy and his lacklustre displays have left many questioning the reasoning behind his acquisition.
Other transfers between the two clubs includes Tshifhiwa Mmbooi and Glamour Boys youth product, Sibusiso Msomi, both moving to Stars. Neither of them managed to make an impact with the Dikwena too.
Based on this, it seems that the transfer deals between Platinum Stars and Chiefs should be kept to a minimum. What do you think?
