Kaizer Chiefs have once again finished a season without silverware. The Amakhosi faithful have expressed their disappointment on numerous occasions, and one supporter suggested that the Chiefs players do not deserve to have an awards ceremony this season.
"Perhaps Chiefs players deserve to be doing the 'guard of honour' for Wits and witness the wild celebrations that will take place in front of them because all they will be celebrating are individual awards at the Kaizer Chiefs end-of-season awards and a free dinner that they do not deserve.
"Chiefs' best players during their 14-match unbeaten run and five-match winning streak were: Lorenzo Gordinho, whenever he was suspended or injured, Chiefs failed to keep a clean sheet and conceded late goals; Joseph Molangoane, since his dispute with Chippa was won, he was a revelation in midfield; Rama Mphahlele, since moving from Sundowns, has drawn comparisons with the late Sizwe Motaung; and Siphiwe Tshabalala, he turned on the magic and provided leadership with his scintillating displays in midfield. Shabba missed Yeye greatly this season but showed his class, scoring eight goals and providing three assists this season." – mzwazwazwa
