Every team needs a super-sub, a player who is a game changer, someone who gets introduced onto the field of play and comes with instructions and executes them. Anthony Laffor and Gustavo Paez are super-subs. They must start from the bench.
If you look back to all the games they have played, they are most effective coming off the bench. Fans must stop complaining when they start from the bench because they confuse coaches, especially Steve Komphela.
Let us try to understand before we complain. If Steve continues to start with Paez, fans will end up seeing him as a cow. I am a Dawana but I see good in him. Laffor has saved Downs many times from the bench. He reminds me of former Pirates player Andries Sebola, who is one of the best super-subs I know.
Olivier Giroud from Arsenal is a good example of how many times a super-sub can score from the bench.
Can Komphela afford to do that?
