Cardoso, not for the first time has given his honest assessment of Chiefs following his departure from the club at the end of last season.
First, the defender highlighted the ill-discipline within the Chiefs camp during his time and more recently suggested that the club would not win trophies with the number of youngsters they have.
However, Chiefs hierarchy has not taken the comments lying down and Motaung Jnr has since responded to the player who spent seven years at Naturena.
"With all due respect, you have never heard Dr Motaung coming to radio addressing comments disgruntled former players made but with Cardoso, he spent 7 years at the club as a senior player and won nothing. It was a period where we were least successful," he told Radio 2000.
"It baffles me why he would utter the word titles. It's more of a slap in the face for our fans because he played almost all the games when he was here. If (Cardoso's comments) were tone-deaf but we wish him all the best at his club," he continued.
There'll be no love lost at the Peter Mokaba Stadium this Sunday as Cardoso's Sekhukhune United take on Chiefs in the Premiership. Kick off is at 15:00.
