The Siya crew can confirm that Swallows have made a decision on the future of Kaizer Chiefs target Njabulo Ngcobo.
As reported by the crew, the Birds' defender has been subject of interest from Amakhosi, who have identified the lanky 26-year-old as one of the top priorities for the club's expected overhaul at the end of the season.
However, Swallows have now ensured that they do not lose their prized possession on a free, by activating the three-year option on Ngcobo's existing deal, which was set to expire in June 2021.
Contacted for comment, the club's Chairman David Mogashoa confirmed that Swallows have taken up the option on Ngcobo's contract.
"It is true that we have taken up the option," Mogashoa told the crew.
Ngcobo's prolonged stay at the Birds now means that Chiefs – or anyone else interested in his services – would have to negotiate a transfer fee with Swallows if they are to land the defender known as 'Road Block'.
As reported by the crew, Swallows are open to losing some of their best players - including Ngcobo – to the likes of Chiefs if the amount is right, to ensure that the club remains financially viable.
It now remains to be seen whether Chiefs step up to fork out what Swallows are expecting for their player, or if Ngcobo will stay in the Birds nest.
