Josephy Kamwendo: Pirates' Very Own Shakira

Having recently called it quits Orlando Pirates fans have fond memories of Josephy Kamwendo, a talented soldier who marshalled the midfield with class and excellence.

He was given the nickname 'Shakira' after he was signed by Pirates. The Buccanneers spotted the dreadlocked star while playing for the Malawian National Team during the COSAFA tournament held in Swaziland in 2007.

His spell with Pirates lasted three seasons with moves to Vasco Da Gama, Mighty Warriors and Muculmana following shortly thereafter.

Blessed with a crafty left foot and an eye for goal, Kamwendo endeared himself to Pirates fans with his style of play.

Kamwendo called time on his career after a stint back home in Malawi, where he was playing for Mighty Wanderers.

It has been said that Kamwendo is now looking to venture into coaching and is expected to hone the next generation of Malawian talent.

What are your fondest memories of Kamwendo's playing career?
