Zidane shocked the world in his final game as a professional footballer when he was sent off in the 2006 World Cup final in extra-time for head-butting Italy's Marco Materazzi.
France went on to lose the final on penalties after it ended 1-1 after extra-time as the Azzurri claimed their fourth World Cup title.
While the 2006 final will be remembered for Zidane's headbutt, the 1998 final will always be remembered for Zidane dominating the Brazilians.
However, France finished the 1998 final with 10 men after central defender Marcel Desailly was sent off after 68 minutes after picking up his second yellow card.

Some of Africa's biggest stars have suffered a similar fate, with Ivory Coast legend Didier Drogba receiving a red card for slapping Manchester United's Nemanja Vidic in the 2008 UEFA Champions League final.
