FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi equalled an impressive record held by the legendary Pele after scoring in his side's 2-2 draw against Valencia.

The Argentine was on 642 goals for Barcelona heading into Satruday's encounter against Los Che, one strike behind the Brazil legend.
Messi managed to get on the scoresheet just before the break with a close-range finish after his penalty was initially saved by Valencia shot-stopper Jaume Domenech.
In doing so, the six-time Ballon d'Or winner equalled Pele's record (643) of most goals for one club.
