Pirates Loss Embarrassing - Hunt

Pirates Loss Embarrassing - Hunt

Gavin Hunt reflected on the overall performance of his team in the Soweto Derby loss against Orlando Pirates, and his feedback of the two legs was an honest one.

Kaizer Chiefs were beaten 5-0 on aggregate by their arch-rivals in the MTN8 semi-finals played over two rounds, the Buccaneers producing a polished display, while Amakhosi were lacklustre and obviously failed to score.

Hunt, speaking to the media, was asked for his assessment of the two matches against Jozef Zinnbauer's side.

"It obviously very painful, it's embarrassing the score. I am not saying we should have won the games, no," the coach replied.

"But we had good opportunities in both games – maybe not so many in the second leg, but before they scored the ball hit the crossbar and could have gone in. It makes a difference in the first leg, the two chances that didn't go in. They are good on the turnover, they've got the pace. It's not good that we didn't score – that's for sure."

Chiefs now have nearly two weeks to regroup and will be away to Golden Arrows in the DStv Premiership on November 21.
