After Kylian Mbappe left some question marks over his future with his recent comments, there have reportedly been some new developments.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner seemingly sent a signal to all interested parties when he revealed that he is yet to decide on his future after scoring a brace in his side's 4-0 win over Montpellier last week.
"I am very happy here. The supporters and the club have always helped me. I'm going to think about what I want to do in the next few years, where I want to be.
"I am reflecting on it, not trying to buy time or anything like that. If I sign, I will stay, so I have to think about it."
Mbappe's words were considered by many to be a message to Real Madrid, who are believed to be his preferred destination should he leave France.
He is seemingly prepared to stay in Paris if they offer him a winning project, while Los Blancos are trying to figure out how they can meet his salary expectations amid the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
Real president Florentino Perez remains keen to sign the striker, and the club has sold several stars to free up the wage bill and get income from sales in order to put together a package for Mbappe, as AS has reported.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are also lurking, with manager Jurgen Klopp said to have intensified contact with the player's entourage, according to Canal+.
Reds midfielder Fabinho, who played with Mbappe at AS Monaco, is also said to be trying to convince the 22-year-old to join the Premier League side, with reports suggesting that the Merseyside club's new kit sponsor Nike would be willing to help fund the deal.
For now, though, it remains to be seen which club – PSG, Real, Liverpool or perhaps another team – can put the best package on the table for Mbappe.
