It has been claimed that Lionel Messi is involved in the biggest "betrayal in the history of football" by trying to force a move out of FC Barcelona.
Many believe the 33-year-old Argentine deserves to decide his own destiny after what he has achieved for Barcelona over the years, but there are a few people who do not agree with the way he is attempting to leave the club.
One of them is Spanish journalist Edu Aguirre, who has insisted that the Blaugrana's loyal supporters are being betrayed by the six-time Ballon d'Or winner.
"For me, Messi is carrying out the greatest betrayal in the history of football," he told Marca.
"Barcelona fans don't deserve that. Messi is ditching them.
"It's the moment for Leo Messi to hold a press conference and say: 'I'll stay because I have a memory and I know what this club is for me.'
"Messi is jumping off the boat when it's sinking. Messi should not leave now."
The forward is reportedly desperate to join Manchester City, and is said to believe he is free to leave the Camp Nou in this transfer window.
