The reasons why Given Thibedi was not recalled from Swallows FC by parent club Kaizer Chiefs, along with three others, have been revealed.
Amakhosi, as first reported by the Siya crew, cut short the loan stints of Ayanda Rorwana, Sizwe Twala and Itumeleng Shopane, but midfielder Thibedi was not part of the returning loan army from the Dube Birds.
"He is in coach Brandon Truter's plans for this DStv Premiership campaign as you would have noticed with his involvement so far," was how our deep throat at Swallows explained the latest developments.
There is evidence of this, Thibedi has featured in all three matches so far this season and as reported in the latest edition of Soccer Laduma, the 23-year-old could remain at Swallows permanently, pending talks.
According to our insiders, the two clubs are in ongoing discussion to try seal the deal for the Chiefs youth development graduate to switch Soweto clubs.
Thibedi was lauded by former Amakhosi coach Steve Komphela as a future senior player before he was eventually brought up to the first team by Ernst Middendorp sometime last year, but spent the previous season on loan at Swallows.
The 2020/21 campaign is now his second with the Dube Birds, who are now in the top flight, having gained promotion from the GladAfrica Championship in September and look determined to hold on to Thibedi.
