Kaizer Chiefs have avoided both Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly in the group stages of the CAF Champions League competition.
The group stage draw for one of Africa's prestigious competitions took place this afternoon after CAF confirmed yesterday the four seeded pots.

Giants, Al Ahly, Wydad Casablanca, Espérance de Tunis and TP Mazembe were all seeded in pot 1, according to the points on CAF's five-year ranking system.

This meant that the aforementioned clubs and all clubs seeded in the same pot would avoid each other in the group stages.
As confirmed by CAF this afternoon, defending champions, Al Ahly will not be making a trip to South Africa in the group stages, with Pitso Mosimane missing out on the chance of coming up against both his former employees and former domestic rivals in Sundowns and Chiefs respectively.
