Kaizer Chiefs Still Have A Slim Shot At The Absa Premiership Title

Bafana Striker Suspended By His Own Club
Chiefs are currently eight points behind the current league leaders, Mamelodi Sundowns, and four points behind their local rivals, Orlando Pirates, but given the inconsistency of the league this season, that gap could potentially be closed. The teams will need to drop points if Chiefs is to edge them in the run up to the end of the season.
This weekend Komphela's ranks come up against AmaZulu as they look to follow up their Nedbank Cup win over Stellenbosch FC, before league games against Free State Stars, Chippa United and Platinum Stars. If they aim to regain a spot as a title contender, those games are must-win. FSS are one of the teams above them, and failure to get three points would all but end their ambitions.

After Dikwena, the Amakhosi will come up against Golden Arrows, Maritzburg United and Ajax Cape Town in their final three games, although there is a chance that, by that point, they could already be out of the running.
Of the seven teams that Chiefs have still need to play this season, they have only beaten three of them in the first round of games and will need to perform much better if they plan to keep their already slim hopes of the league title alive.
With seven games left to play, Kaizer Chiefs' hopes of lifting the Absa Premiership trophy are hanging by a thread, although it's not mathematically impossible just yet.
