With Liverpool already boasting two of Africa's best players in their ranks, the reigning European champions could be about to sign another attacking star from the continent after reportedly opening talks for a Nigeria striker.
Jurgen Klopp's side is home to Africa's two most recognised forwards in Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah, who ended first and second, respectively, in the running for the African Footballer of the Year award in 2019.
The Reds could now add another star from Africa to their ranks, with the Merseyside club being linked with a move for Lille's highly rated Nigeria international Victor Osimhen.
According to French publication le10sport, Liverpool have opened discussions with Osimhen's agent over a possible transfer at the end of the season.
The 21-year-old is reportedly seen by the Premier League frontrunners as an alternative to Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe, and has also courted interest from Chelsea and Manchester United.
The Lagos-born forward is a full international with Nigeria, and has scored four goals in eight official matches for the Super Eagles thus far.
