Kaizer Chiefs defender opens up on his challenging period on the sidelines

Kaizer Chiefs defender Reeve Frosler has opened up on the frustrating period on the sidelines that saw him miss almost three months of action.

Coming off the back of playing 26 games in all competitions for the Glamour Boys last season, Frosler was confident of building momentum under a man he knew all too well in Gavin Hunt.

However, the 23-year-old endured a nightmarish start to his campaign when he hobbled off with a knee injury in just the second match, which saw him miss 14 games in all competitions for the struggling Soweto giants.

Speaking to Kaizer Chiefs' official website, the Bafana Bafana man has opened up on his difficult period on the sidelines.

"During the recuperation period, it is always difficult watching from the stands. I don't like watching from the stands or from home. I prefer watching from the bench. It was hard, but it was nice to see the guys come together and keep going. As we started working together, we started receiving better results," Frosler said.

The defender, who was still quite heavily strapped, left quite a few fans surprised when he made his return for Amakhosi in their goalless stalemate against Stellenbosch FC at the weekend, has shared his delight to be back on the field.

"I've recovered very well, the doctors and physios are happy. I feel great. I just need to build the confidence up again, and that will happen with game time. I want to get stronger and stronger and try and get in some minutes to get fit again," Frosler added.

Frosler will be hoping to rack up the minutes when Chiefs host Baroka FC, the side who denied them league glory last season, at the FNB Stadium on Tuesday.

Kick off is scheduled for 17:00.
