Report: Lionel Messi Skips Barcelona's COVID-19 Testing

FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi reportedly did not show up for the club's coronavirus testing on Sunday, as the Argentine seeks an exit at the Camp Nou.

The Argentine superstar has been in the headlines all week  after he informing the Catalan giants he wants to leave before the start of the new campaign.

Messi and other first team players were expected to arrive in Barcelona on Sunday for coronavirus testing, as the team begin preparing for the 2020/2021 season on Monday.

Spanish journalist Marcelo Bechler, who broke the news about Neymar's move to Paris Saint-Germain, has now reported the Argentine was not present with the rest of players for testing ahead training on Monday as he feels he is no longer a Barcelona player.

Meanwhile, El Periodico reported on Friday that Messi requested a sit down with the club to discuss his future but that request was denied.

"Either it's to renew [his contract] or there's nothing to discuss," the club told El Periodico,

The six-time Ballon d'or winner has a release clause of 700million (£592.5million) and he is reportedly aware that Barcelona will not allow him to leave for free.

Ronald Koeman will take charge of his first training session this week, but it seems the six-time Ballon d'Or winner will not be in attendance.
