Pitso Mosimane: We Should've Scored Six, It's Not Funny

Despite trailing 4-0 in the first half, Pitso Mosimane felt Mamelodi Sundowns should have scored at leas six goals in the second stanza.

Sundowns were unable to defend their Shell Helix Cup crown following a 4-2 defeat to Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday afternoon.

Mosimane felt his side could have mounted a spectacular comeback in the second half if it wasn't for their a number of missed chances.

"We played well [in] the second half, you have to make the changes, you gotta give Aubrey Ngoma a chance, you gotta give Andile Jali a chance, you gotta give Oupa Manyisa a chance, you gotta give them a chance to play and that's what we did," Mosimane told SABC after the match.

"And Chiefs were better than us in the first half, in the midfield we didn't press the ball. The ball that was put through all the time we didn't press it," he continued.

"But you have to understand the midfield that is playing now is not really the midfield that is always playing when we apply a lot of pressure and press the ball. That's what happened and they got the goals, the goals were good and legitimate. They were right goals, that's what happened in the first half.

"But in the second half, we should have had [scored] six goals, let's be honest. Unbelievable misses, it's not funny. So this game could have turned around to 5 or 6 but "could have", "should have" doesn't work, you have to put the ball in the back of the net. That's all."
