Knowledge Musona Will Not Be Returning To Kaizer Chiefs

Despite the constant rumours linking him with a return to Kaizer Chiefs, any Amakhosi holding their breath for the return of Knowledge Musona will be waiting a long time. Read: Spotted! The Bafana Star Back After Injury Nightmare The Zimbabwean striker is seeing out the remainder of the current season with Lokeren after enduring a tough spell to life with Anderlecht following his move last year, however the Belgian giants reportedly paid a figure in the region of €2m (R32m) for him, and will want to see some sort of return on their investment. Musona scored on his home debut for Lokeren last month after completing a loan switch in January, and the plan is to return to his mother club for pre-season and force his way into their plans ahead of the 2019/20 season. Speaking in this week's issue of Soccer Laduma, the player's agent, Mike Makaab, poured water on talk of an Absa Premiership return, saying, "Look, first and foremost, Knowledge has a long-term contract with Anderlecht once his loan with Lokeren expires, and his long-term goal is to remain at a top level in Europe for as long as possible." Makaab added, "We'll obviously assess things when his loan ends, but coming back to South Africa is not even on his radar at this point in time, and to be honest it would take huge money to even consider doing so." As mentioned by Makaab, the fact that Musona also has more than three years left to run on his current deal would also make things difficult for any club not in a top European league to look at the possibility of snapping him up – even if he was available.
