Chiefs Make Middendorp Decision

Kaizer Chiefs has announced the club's decision on Ernst Middendorp!

A statement on the official Amakhosi website confirmed late on Wednesday what the Siya crew has reported over the last few days – that the German mentor was not expected to remain at Naturena despite still having a year left on his contract.

The announcement comes on the back of the devastating outcome from this past weekend's Absa Premiership results.

Chiefs, log leaders for a large chunk of the 2019/20 season, went into the forced lockdown four points clear of reigning champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

However, it was a different story in the Premier Soccer League bio-bubble and Downs leapfrogged to the top of the table on the final day of the season, bringing shock and heartbreak to the Chiefs hierarchy and it was expected then that Middendorp would be allowed to leave.

Gavin Hunt is understood to be the front runner for the now vacant Chiefs job, but former Amakhosi coach Stuart Baxter also has an outside chance.
