Speaking to the media this week, Middendorp revealed that Amakhosi are not used to the absence of the thousands of supporters who continue to follow the team throughout the country.

"It is definitely something we are not used to, in particular, Kaizer Chiefs in the history of 50 years knowing exactly wherever you are going; thousands of die-hard supporters are following the team, supporting the team and making the team at the end of the day," he said.

"It is definitely something where we have to talk about, we did it already several times and we will highlight it again knowing that huge expectations and huge support outside in the entire country. And I know everybody will hold the thumbs and make a prayer that we are going into the right direction and hopefully we can definitely fulfil the expectation of the huge crowd of Kaizer Chiefs who are not being allowed in the stadium. It is the protocol and we have to deal with it."
