Former Orlando Pirates defender, Lucas Tlhomelang, has suggested the names of players he would like to see joining the club to strengthen the squad for next season.
Following yet another unsuccessful season with regards to winning a trophy, the Soweto giants should consider beefing up their defence, according to Tlhomelang.

Maritzburg United's Siyanda Xulu and his teammate at the KwaZulu-Natal outfit Richard Ofori are some of the players that Tlhomelang would like to see at the Buccaneers.
"Pirates need to strengthen the team with top quality defenders. I mean, Sundowns have Kennedy Mweene, who is a Zambian international and Denis Onyango, as well as top back-up goalkeepers," said the former defender.
"Pirates need top defenders and top back-up players in defence and in goalkeeping department. It's not nice to experiment at this level that is as big as the PSL. We (Pirates) are going back to CAF and we will need a stronger squad with quality defenders. If it was possible, I would suggest the signing of Siyanda Xulu from Maritzburg United. He is a quality player and a top defender. Happy Jele is experienced I agree, but he doesn't have the legs anymore, in my opinion," added Tlhomelang.

However, Bucs finished the 2018/19 season as one of the two teams with the PSL's best defences. Milutin Sredojevic's side finished with their goals against column on the log reading 24, with the only other team on that number being Sundowns, who won the league.
"I heard that the club is interested in the goalkeeper from Maritzburg (Ofori) and I would be glad if he gets signed. We need international players. We need two good centre-backs," he concluded.
