Johnson Delighted To Snatch A Point At Chiefs

AmaZulu coach Cavin Johnson admits they were let down in the final third during their stalemate against Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday.

The result ensures that their long-standing attempt to beat the Amakhosi in a league encounter continues to elude them.

"I think it was a game of two halves. First half was ours, second half theirs. I thought we played a very good first half. We had a few good chances," Johnson told SuperSport after the game.

"I thought we needed to be a bit calm on the ball in the last third and we could've got something. Second half they came at us and crowded the midfield and at that time my number 10 wasn't dropping back deep enough so they were able to get the ball right with a few good crosses and chances.

"So they had a few good chances. But I thought the boys played well second half as far as defending is conceded," Johnson added.

The former Platinum Stars and SuperSort United coach believes they could've sealed all the points at the death wasn't it for indecision albeit the ball falling properly for them.

"Yes, we almost stole it at the end if the ball had fall for us properly we could've got it but it wasn't to be. To get a point from Kaizer Chiefs away from home, you got to be happy.

"Let's hope we do so the next game because if you play like this one game then different the other games like against Ubuntu (Cape Town) than you ask yourself questions," Johnson said.
