Dove Wome Opens Up About His Orlando Pirates Spell

In reminiscing on time at Orlando Pirates, Togolese international midfielder Dove Wome feels he could have achieved more with the club.

Wome had a stint with the Buccaneers in 2017, after he surprisingly joined the club on loan from SuperSport United in January that year for the second half of the 2016/17 season.

After a remarkable start at the Soweto giants – having scored two goals from the first three matches he played – things didn't go as smoothly for him and the team, in what resulted in a disappointing campaign under Swedish coach Kjell Jonevret.

"I had a good time, Pirates is a big club but I feel a little bit sorry because I didn't play for a long time for the club as I went there for only six months. I did what I had to do but I think I could have done more than that if maybe I had a chance to stay with the club for one year or two," Wome told the Siya crew.

The 29-year-old is currently back home in Togo and weighing up his options to resume his career after the COVID-19 pandemic.
