Brilliant Khuzwayo Is Currently In Hospital After Being Stabbed

The representative of Brilliant Khuzwayo confirmed to the Siya crew that the former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper had been stabbed.

A statement on Khuzwayo's Twitter account this morning, revealed that the 30-year-old was rushed to hospital after being stabbed by what is believed to be a student at the Mangosuthu University of Technology.

The former goalkeeper was invited to speak at a sports event.

"17-10-2020 Brilliant Khuzwayo was invited to speak at the Mangosuthu University of Technology (MUT) sports event. Right before he could make his address, a male believed to be a MUT student stabbed him and he was rushed to the hospital. A case has been opened with Umlazi SAPS," was a statement issued on Khuzwayo's official Twitter account.

Soccer Laduma has since gotten in touch with the player's representative who confirmed the news to the Siya crew, adding that he is doing 'fine'.

"I spoke to Brilliant who confirmed the incident but he is fine," his representative, Basia Michaels said.

"Police at Umlazi are investigating two counts of assault GBH as well as crimen injuria. It is alleged that yesterday afternoon two men aged 30 and 23 were involved in an altercation at Mangosuthu University of Technology. One of the men claimed he was stabbed with a broken bottle and sustained two stab wounds on his left hand. The other claims that he was stabbed with a knife. Both suspects aged 23 and 30 were arrested and will appear before the Umlazi Magistrate's Court tomorrow," was the quote the Siya crew received from brigadier Jay Naicker.
