The England international, who had a stellar career which included playing for United, Real Madrid, AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain, received an overall of just 86.

His overall listed in the announcement trailer is lower than all other existing midfield icons on the game's official website, including Japanese legend, Hidetoshi Nakata - who has an overall of 88 in his CAM role.

Former teammates, Paul Scholes (91) and Roy Keane (90) are both rated considerably higher, as other England legends, Frank Lampard (90) and Steven Gerrard (91).

"Beckham will be introduced as a playable character in the game, appearing in Ultimate Team as an Icon beginning in December, and as a VOLTA Groundbreaker beginning on Dec 15," read a statement on the Inter Miami website.

"The FIFA 21 Standard Edition will also be temporarily updated on PlayStation and XBOX store fronts with the digital-only Beckham Edition cover through the holidays.
