Musa Nyatama Thought His Orlando Pirates Teammate Deserved An Award

Musa Nyatama

Orlando Pirates' Musa Nyatama was rewarded for his fine form by being named as the Absa Premiership Player of the Month for March, but he felt that one of his teammates also deserved it.   Read: Komphela Insists Chiefs Are In The Chasing Pack   The 30-year-old midfielder has been a key component of the Buccaneers title push this season, playing 24 of their 25 games as they look to go toe-to-toe with Mamelodi Sundowns for the Absa Premiership trophy.   His performances against Kaizer Chiefs and Golden Arrows were enough to land him the gong for last month, but he was quick to praise the team collectively for their efforts so far this season.   Speaking to the media, the former Bloemfontein Celtic man said, "I think that also Thembinkosi Lorch deserved the award, he's been doing well so far, and as a team collectively I think that we've been doing well. We've been doing well with everything, with the time we invest in training and the homework that we do on opponents as well."   Nyatama also added that he's been working hard to adapt to life in his new position as a deep-lying playmaker, and is eager to prove himself at the club.    Click here to check out the PSL fixtures   He said, "We don't play the same football as when I was at Sundowns, because then I used to play as a number eight. At Celtic, they played me as a number 10, and now at Pirates, I'm playing as a number 6. I'm enjoying my football here, and the coaches have brought back that hunger for me.   "I've been working very hard off the field to prove to supporters and to you guys (the media) that I'm one of the best players."   Nyatama will be keen to keep up his form in the last five games of the season, with Pirates looking to bring a lengthy trophy drought to an end.
