Clubs From Around Continent Flock To South Africa For Pre-Season

League winning teams from two different countries in Africa are scheduled to clash in the North West as clubs from around the continent are visiting South Africa for their respective pre-season camps.

Reigning Botswana champions Township Rollers are scheduled to play against their counterparts from Tanzania, Simba SC in what is anticipated to be a competitive and entertaining friendly match in Rustenburg on Thursday.

Having failed in their attempt to secure a friendly match against Absa Premiership giants Orlando Pirates, as they prepare for this coming weekend's match against Kaizer Chiefs, Rollers have confirmed having arranged a match with Simba before ending their visit to Mzansi at the end of this week.

"Township Rollers will on Thursday play Tanzanian champions Simba; a side which early this year reached the 2018-19 CAF Champions League quarter-finals. The 20 time Tanzanian champions will face Popa in a friendly following a rearrangement of the Blues' pre-season fixtures," Rollers confirmed in a statement on the club's official Facebook page.

Rollers and Simba are undisputed champions in their countries, with both clubs having won back to back league titles in recent seasons.

Rollers have been champions in Botswana Premier League for four seasons in succession, from the 2015/16 to the 2018/19 campaigns, with a total of 15 titles in their history, while Simba have won league titles in Tanzania two consecutive times in the last two seasons, holding league honours 20 times in total.

As reported, Rollers will host Chiefs this coming Saturday for their match in Botswana.
