Bought, relocated and renamed

In the not so distant past- MEC of Education in Gauteng Panyaza Lesufi and a certain Itilian consortium failed to buy a Premier Soccer League status- of the then elite league club- Free State Stars to revive Moroka Swallows.Lesufi needed model C governing body to buy a pass to the next grade. Swallows has risen from the dead- thanks to Maccabi FC for selling their soul to the highest bidder. Whoever said money can't buy success- surely he didn't have enough. Maswaiswai is now an official National First Division outfit thanks to Lesufi's deep pockets. This thing of buying, relocating and renaming of brands is killing our football. Lesufi in his profesional capacity knows that one must work his way up the ranks. Swallows should have started from below the third tier league and ascend to the elite. The people of Mpumalanga has no Premier League team because John Commitis was a willing buyer of Black Aces. It is no different to Lesufi and co. The Birds will fly on borrowed wings in the NFD. Should the cloned wings survive NFD storms then PSL is their next destination. This trend of buying and renaming teams needs to be dealt with before it becomes a norm. Lesufi is a die hard Swallows fan and will do anything and evrything to sustain his beloved Birds. The mastermind made a calculated move and passed with distinctions. Maccabi CEO, Allan Norman, says his side died only because it was young. Allan is old enough to know even the old dies. Swallows was once weeks old and it is now appeoaching a century of existance. Football in Mzansi is owened by those with more Madiba notes. He who pays the bills makes the rules.
