Former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Lebohang Mokoena has spoken about the difference between the Chloorkop outfit and his new club Ajax Cape Town. Do you agree with him?
The Cape club unveiled "Cheeseboy" on Thursday afternoon, and he spoke to Fan Park editor Rossella Marrai-Ricco about how things come more easily at Sundowns, whereas players have to work harder at Ajax.
"When you look at a team like Sundowns, they have got everything in the sense that the players are given almost everything: from analysing the teams in the PSL, to a lot of things that I can't mention in terms of buying much more quality," the 29-year-old revealed.
"When you look at our team, we focus more on the boys that have been promoted. They also have to adjust to the level, and so it becomes a minus to us.
"But you know what they say: 'It's only 11 versus 11 on the field.' Names don't play at the end of the day, so it is all about hard work and it's for whoever wants it more.
"A team like Sundowns has everything. You really want a team like that to be winning each and every game, especially for what the president does for the team – whatever the coach needs, he gets.
"Here at Ajax, we have to patch up here and there, we have to readjust a few things, and sacrifice… I think we can also go all the way if we stay as one unit and believe in what the coach wants us to do.
"We will definitely achieve something this season."
Do you agree with Mokoena's comparisons of the two teams?
