Habas Out, Barker In

04 January 2013

Habas

Wits have confirmed that they have terminated Antonio Habas' contract by mutual consent, and that Clive Barker will come in to replace him for the rest of the season.

Habas only joined the Clever Boys at the start of the season after the club had parted ways with Roger De Sa, but CEO Jose Ferreira says that Habas is leaving due to personal reasons.

“Antonio Lopez has requested that, due to personal and private reasons, he be released from his contract, due to expire at the end of the season," Ferreira told the club's official website.

"We have acceded to his request and we are in the process of finalising the necessary paperwork in this regard. Antonio Lopez has been an exemplary professional and we wish him the very best in his future endeavours."

It was also confirmed on their official website that Barker would come in for the remainder of the season, and he will be assisted by Andre Arendse, who will also continue his duties as goalkeeper coach.

Barker is due to join the side on Monday, 7 January, meaning that Arendse will look after the side until then.

Ngwete so many local Coaches like Khompela,De Sa,G I, in their team respective teams they were always on top 8 for the past ten with players they have, so what so special about Clive Barker that he need ammunition before he cn transform Amuzulu! If he is so good Y he has nt even Coached any of the Big three teams after that AFCON success?

@Boiboi: how can they fight for honours without ammunition? Give me one great player that was bought by Amazulu. Amazulu are very stingy they dnt buy players and you expect them to fight for honours. You are very clueless about Clive so just shut up poor kid.

Clive Barker was fired from Bafana Bafana because he also was not perfoming, history always remain history, Amazulu could have been fightin for honours If Barker such an asset!

Clive Barker is better than GI. Barker was going to call Teko in the squad. He is the only coach to win the AFCON cup in 1996. GI and Habas are a joke.
