As usual, when a player's contract nears its conclusion, speculation fills the arenas of South African football. The latest rumour doing the rounds is that Mamelodi Sundowns have approached Reneilwe Letsholonyane with a contract offer. It is not official, but there is no smoke without fire… How do the Sundowns faithful feel about this, though? Not good, if comments on our website are anything to go by.
"We don't want used goods." – Simbongile_Booi
"I don't think there is space for him at our team?" – Gerrard868
"We don't want leftovers." – Samller
"Why would we approach an injured madala when we have our own madalas like King Teko?" – Solomon Madube 08
They may just be right. The Brazilians have one of the most lethal midfields in the country. Leonardo Castro, Khama Billiat and Keagan Dolly have been in fine form too… On top of this, the depth displayed on their bench is something to behold, and just in case this wasn't enough, they have a pretty sound youth development programme too.
It seems that one of two things are at play here, in the eyes of the Sundowns supporters. Either they think there is no space at Sundowns for "Yeye", or he is just not Chloorkop material…
Which do you think it is? Or do you think he will actually be a good fit, contrary to popular opinion?
