Wits Show Supporters They Mean Business...

This season was a slightly odd one; the usual competitors fell out of the races early, and unlikely heroes arose. Kaizer Chiefs finished fifth, Chelsea finished 10th, Leicester City finished first, and Bidvest Wits finished second. It seems like the big boys are determined for this kind of season to be a once-off, but it seems the Clever Boys are out to prove they are not just in the PSL to make up the numbers next year, and their latest signings show this…

Wits recently announced the signings of Pentjie Zulu and Eleazar Rodgers, who will be plying their trade in Johannesburg next season. Mot supporters think these were good moves, foreseeing a good combination with the players already in the team.

"I have always been a fan of Rodgers. It's a good thing he signed for a coach who plays his kind of football." – The Pong Pong

"This guy is going to kill a lot of teams under Coach Hunt's leadership." – LeCowHloHlo

So it seems most supporters are complimentary of Wits, and in fact all teams that have already gone out into the market to add some beef to the stew. The big elephant in the room comes in the form of Kaizer Chiefs – many are wondering when their first marquee signing will be announced. While Rodgers is considered a big name in local soccer, no such celebrity news can be posted about Amakhosi as of yet.

"Wits mean business as usual." – Solomon Madube 08

"Bobby is still monitoring while teams are busy signing." – glamour Pelo

What do you think of a Wits team with Rodgers and Zulu? Can this team go on to win the PSL? Why do you think it is taking so long for other teams to sign big players?
