On Wednesday night, two giants of local football will square off in a match that has moved from being a must-win to merely ceremonial. Nonetheless, it should be a glorious spectacle watching these two mammoths lock teeth. Supporters Club caught up with Bidvest Wits fan Mpho Ramahlo to find out how the Clever Boys' faithful feel going into the fixture.
"The game is still important. It is our time to show that we are still alive," he said.
"The championship is lost, so this is just for pride.
"They are the champions, but we want to show that we can stand tall against them."
When asked for a score prediction, Mpho was hesitant.
"You can't hand them a high score, unless Pitso brings the B team," he added.
"So we will give them a professional score, like 1-0 or 2-1.
"We can't have them beat us twice in one season."
In the history of the two clubs playing each other, Sundowns have won 60% of the encounters (13 out of 22), Wits have won 22% (five out of 22), and four of the matches ended in draws (18%).
What do you think the score will be on Wednesday night? Is this still a big game?
