Baroka FC have had a great run in the NFD this year, and they've shown they can punch above their weight in their Nedbank Cup campaign this year too, having reached the semi-finals after slaying only PSL sides on the way. Although it is too soon to forecast anything as football is an unpredictable sport, it seems likely that Baroka will be in the PSL next year. Will they fly or will they fall?
Opinions are varied, but many supporters have been taken back by the confidence exuded by head coach Kgokolo Thobejane, and seem to think this will cost Bakgaga next season.
However, there are also those who think this may actually count in their favour, and that their success will depend on their ability to keep their squad together for next season.
There are one or two who have their doubts...
"I can assure them the PSL is very tough and demanding. They may have swept aside everyone in their path in NFD. But once they get to PSL, they need to change their attitude." – Thauta
"They will be relegated within one season and will take their homies Polokwane with them." – coolbaams
But most supporters, even those of other clubs, seem to be in Baroka's corner, and are excited to welcome the flair and confidence that embodies the Bakgaga style of play.
"If Baroka were playing in the Absa Premiership this year, they would be champions. Chiefs played a month and a half without a win but can still be No. 3 on the log." – onelemhyayise5
"This is one of those teams who played entertaining football, better than the so-called big, powerful South African clubs of Chiefs and Pirates' calibre." – Salocin Iminald
As to whether they will fly or fall, no one can be too sure. However, the truest comment of the day came from Leratosetlhogo...
"Let's wait and see."
Do you think Baroka will fly or fall if they play in the PSL next season?
